The raspberry is native to the mountainous areas of Western Europe, where it still exists in the wild. Maison Ponthier has chosen to source some of its raspberries in Poland, as the country has for some years been identified as a world leader in the production of raspberries, with an increase of 7.7% in volume that was observed compared to 2011. This strong increase is due to a multitude of factors such as a favorable ground, modern production methods, high-yielding varieties or favorable climatic conditions. Yet, raspberry remains a very fragile fruit that needs special and technical care before being transformed into puree. The main variety of the Ponthier raspberry purée is Willamette, which gives small and tasteful fruits.
