Hans Baumann's more than 50 years of exemplary culinary experience has anchored the growth of Swiss Chalet Fine Foods. Hans gained his indepth food preparation skills at an early age working in his father's bakery in Switzerland. He entered the renowned Swiss Culinary apprenticeship program and upon graduation, put his talents to work in Europe and the U.S. In 1957, Hans and Claire Baumann and Hans' brother opened the Swiss Chalet restaurant in Lake Tahoe. Their founding of Swiss Chalet Fine Foods was driven by their own personal experience with the difficulty of getting the European style items they wanted.
Today, a second generation of Baumanns are actively involved in running the business and are committed to maintaining their family's tradition of importing and distributing high quality, specialty products.
With facilities in Houston (TX), Los Angeles (CA), Lakewood (NJ) and Miami (FL), the Swiss Chalet Fine Foods network continues to grow. Swiss Chalet Fine Foods houses state-of-the-art professional kitchens available for customer use, and their in-house training is just one more example of the Swiss Chalet Fine Foods commitment to total customer satisfaction.
